My Favorite Tuna Salad
Fit For Life Physical Therapy
Rebecca Youngs, MS, RD, LD
This is my go-to tuna salad recipe. It keeps well and provides protein and fat to keep those hunger cues at bay! If you want to make a large batch, simply use a can of tuna, and double all the ingredients. Try to find low sodium tuna and then control the amount of salt you need to add by adding in seasoning.
Ingredients
1 Chunk Light Tuna in Water pouch – low sodium!
3-4 ribs of celery, diced
3-4 Tbsp. of plain Greek Yogurt
½ Tbsp. whole grain mustard or honey mustard
¼ cup of unsalted, natural almonds or walnuts- measured, then smashed or chopped
Garlic salt or seas salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
½ tsp. paprika, optional
½ tsp. dried dill, optional
2 whole grain brown rice cakes, toast, pita bread, or lettuce wraps
Directions
• Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Season with garlic salt and pepper to your liking.
• Serve on rice cakes, bread, or lettuce wraps. This is also a great recipe to put on top of a bed of spring greens!
