A Record Number of Quivering Quads
The 18th edition of the Quivering Quads Trail Half Marathon (QQ) took place this past Sunday at Cuivre River State Park. The great weather brought out a record number of participants. Over 450 runners completed the scenic but challenging half marathon course, earning themselves handmade finishers medals made from cedar wood harvested from Cuivre River State Park, itself. The great weather also provided fast course conditions, which helped Fleet Feet Fit Professional Drew Webster set a new course record of 1:30:31. Renee White claimed the women’s victory, improving upon her 2016 3rd place finish.
The event was especially memorable for Randi Kreamer, who was greeted at the finish line by her boyfriend, Ryan Brown. Ryan greeted her with flowers, a hug, and a kiss - and then surprised her by getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him. She said, "Yes!"
The Fleet Feet Race Productions crew was excited to debut its new custom mobile app feature at QQ. Participants and spectators who downloaded the free app were able to get pre-race updates via notifications, view the course map, review complete race information, and track athletes during the event as they crossed timing points at the start, at about 10K , at about 10 miles, and at the finish.
We hope all the runners, spectators, volunteers, and race staff enjoyed their time within Cuivre River State Park, which is celebrating the 100th year of Missouri State Parks. We can’t wait to be back at Cuivre River State Park for Quivering Quads II on October 29th. Details and registration for that event will be coming in the next few weeks.
