This past October, Fleet Feet Sports Knoxville pledged to donate 10% of the proceeds from sports bra sales to the Knoxville chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Pictured here is Fleet Feet Marketing Director Kelly Ross dropping off the $118.80 raised to Amy Moon Dunaway, Director Marketing & Fundraising for Susan G. Komen Knoxville. Komen Knoxville is dedicated to combating breast cancer right here in Knoxville, by funding grants for local hospitals and donating to organizations that provide the community with breast health education, breast cancer screenings, and treatment for medically under-served women. They also help support the Komen Grants program, which funds breast cancer research.
After skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women in the US, so it is important for all women to think about breast health. While there is no evidence to link a bra fit and breast cancer, bra fit certainly affects other areas of breast health, and a bra fitting can be the start of the conversation about breast health. A good sports bra is important in particular, because the stress of exercise can lead to damage to the breast tissue, not to mention the strain it puts on the back and shoulders.
Did you know we are able to FIT women of all sizes? At Fleet Feet Knoxville, our staff continuously trains on breast health, bra fit, and we know which bra models work best for different women.
