The Fleet Feet Knoxville Running Club is proud to announce their donation of $1441.06 to the Friends of the Cumberland Trail. The donation comes from the proceeds raised from the 2015 Cumberland Trail 50K, thanks to the efforts of race directors (Brian Williams and Tony Branam) and their volunteers. This donation is made for trail improvements on the Cumberland Trail in Scott and Campbell counties, specifically the section between Cave Branch Trailhead and Cove Lake State Park.
The Friends of the Cumberland Trail have a mission to preserve and protect the environmental, cultural, and historical resources of the Cumberland Trail State Scenic Trail corridor, to provide related educational opportunities, and to support park needs.
The Fleet Feet Knoxville Running Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the local running community. In addition to the Cumberland Trail 50K, the FFKRC also hosts the Hot to Trot 5k/10k & Fun Run on Thanksgiving Day in Turkey Creek, and new for 2016 the Farragut Freedom Run 1 Mile and 2 Mile on July 4th. The FFKRC works closely with Fleet Feet Sport Knoxville, a locally owned and operated specialty running store.
