Fleet Feet Knoxville Running Club donates $3,000 to Smoky Mountain Service Dogs
It was an exciting time at the August 30th Open group Run at Fleet Feet Knoxville when the Fleet Feet Knoxville Running Club (FFKRC) donated a check for $3,000 to the board members of the Smoky Mountain Service Dogs (SMSD).
The check was presented by Muna Rodriguez (Fleet Feet Knoxville) to the Board of Directors president, Mike Kitchens, with the presence of fellow board members and volunteers; Suzy Kitchens, Laurie Birt, Carla Werner, Larry Denney, and marine veteran and recipient Bradley. Also pictured is the SMSD ambassador Hooligan and Bradley’s canine companion Bella.
SMSD actively participated and volunteered in the July 4th one and two mile races. The ambassadors and trainers followed the last runners with the banner to also lead out in front of the Farragut Independence Day Parade. FFKRC and SMSD are planning another partnership for their 2019 event.
