Smoky Mountain Service DogsSmoky Mountain Service Dogs to be Official Freedom Run Charity

Freedom Run race officials are proud to announce that the 2016 races will support local charity Smoky Mountain Service Dogs. The mission of Smoky Mountain Service Dogs is to “enhance the Physical and Psychological Quality of Life for Veterans with Disabilities by Providing Custom Trained Mobility Assistance Service Dogs.” FFKRC is honored to partner with this incredible organization, and looks forward to the opportunity to give back to our nation’s military veterans while celebrating Independence Day with the community.

Awards for Breaking a State Record

The Freedom Run races will include a USATF certified 1 Mile and 2 Mile course (1 Mile - TN16035MS & 2 Mile - TN16036MS). To award those who break the current Tennessee state record*, record-breaking runners will win an American flag hat of their choice (pictured below), not to mention bragging rights!

*IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: While both courses are certified by USATF, the will not be eligible to set a state record as previously stated. There is a USATF rule against setting a state record at a point-to-point course that was previously unknown to the race officials. We apologize for any inconvenience and disappointment this may cause.
