Fleet Feet Sports Celebrates The Power of Running

Marketing Initiative Celebrating the Knoxville Running Community Comes to a Close

Knoxville, TN – Fleet Feet Sports, the local retail leader in building and supporting the Knoxville running community, announces the completion of its “The Power of Running” campaign.

The marketing initiative, a celebration of all that running together, running for good, running to inspire, and running for fun does in the local community, kicked off Aug. 1 in-store at Fleet Feet Sports Knoxville and online at www.fleetfeetknoxville.com, and will be completed at the final celebration party at the store on Nov. 3.

Planned events and campaign pillars include:

• The Power of Running For Good, a nine-weekend charitable effort done in partnership with Nathan Sports, Superfeet, Balega International, adidas, New Balance, Asics, and Addaday. The store collected a portion of the proceeds from the sale of select products and will donate the total sum of $200.00 to the Butterfly Fund of East Tennessee, a local charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research, at the final celebration on November 3rd.

• Run Happy Power Hour, an exclusive Fleet Feet Sports event created with Brooks Running that asks the question, “Which store can log the highest number of miles together in one hour. The Run Happy Power Hours took place all September long, and together the Knoxville running community ran a total of 453 miles. At the final celebration party on Nov 3, Fleet Feet Knoxville will host one final Power Hour, and has pledged to donate $1 for every mile run that during the hour to the Butterfly Fund of East TN.

• The Power of Running to Inspire, a national nomination contest sponsored by Mizuno that will recognize local runners and their extraordinary community or personal. Fleet Feet Knoxville will honor four local runners at the Power of Running Celebration on Nov 3.

The Knoxville location joined 149 Fleet Feet Sports locations nationwide in The Power of Running initiative.
