Staff Picks: Christina Twist

When I heard that Fleet Feet Nashville was going to have a weekly Track Attack event on Fridays this summer I was excited but more than a little nervous.  I'm much more of a "slow and steady finishes the race" type of runner and was concerned that I wouldn't be able to hold my own with the many speedsters that were bound to show up.  I could not have been more wrong!  The atmosphere during the past month of Fridays has been welcoming and encouraging to runners of all levels and ages.  Our very first Friday a whole family showed up and competed in the 4x100 relay together.  Seeing those kids run around the track with joy on their faces reminded me why I run and put the emphasis back on FUN.  The 4x400 relay is my favorite event to compete in by far, especially since the teams are blind draw or randomly selected!  I may not be the fastest runner out there, but cheering on my teammates and running my hardest 400 ever are going to be how I spend my Friday nights for the rest of the summer!  Come join us, 6pm on7/11, 7/18, 7/25 at the Hillsboro High School Track.
