Virtual Event: 5280 One Mile Challenge
Looking for a fun way to hone your speed for spring and summer races? Check out the 5280 One Mile Challenge, a virtual one-mile race presented by Front Range Elite, an elite women's racing team based in Fort Collins, Colorato.
Nikki Long, a speedy Raleigh-area runner who was a member of Raleigh Distance Project, has organized a "locals only" Triangle division for the race, and Fleet Feet Raleigh-Morrisville will be providing in-store gift cards for the winners, plus some swag to every 5th person to submit a time in our local division.
How It Works:
Entry Fee: Your entry fee is as unique as your predicted mile time. For example, if you're aiming for a 7-minute mile, your donation is $7.00. This creative approach ensures that participants contribute based on their confidence and dedication.
What You Get:
Prizes: Race for a chance to win some amazing prizes from the group's sponsors! See awards section on the sign-up page.
Bragging Rights: Compete with runners nationwide and earn well-deserved bragging rights.
10-Week Training Program: Included in your race entry is a complimentary 10-week one-mile training program. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting, this program, emailed directly to you, will help you prepare for the challenge ahead.
Virtual Experience: Run your mile anywhere, anytime between March 31st and April 6th. Whether it's on your local track, favorite trail, or even your treadmill, the choice is yours!
