Let’s Make Some History Shall We

The running scene in Savannah continues to flourish as we see event after event pop up, some big, some not so big, some on the road, some in the mud, some short distances and some much loner runs. Whatever the case this weekend promises to be a very special weekend in Savannah as we kick off the Inaugural Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon & 5K. As running and fitness continues to climb the charts, there is no doubt that the women are dominating most of the numbers at these large running events. The Publix Savannah Women’s Half and 5K will be 3,000 of your closest friends running the streets of Savannah. Unlike most races looking for thousands and thousands to run their streets, the Savannah Sports Council, Publix and New Balance have decided to make this a very chic, one of a kind event by limiting the field. There will be all kinds of goodies for the participants, and guess what, NO T-SHIRT!!! Of course you can purchase all kinds of t-shirts for this inaugural event at the expo, but all of the athletes that have registered will receive an exclusive participant gift. It should be a very special weekend in Savannah. I’m inviting all of you to come out and witness some history in the making as Savannah kicks off its first women’s running event. The Publix Savannah Women’s Half & 5K, this Saturday.
