One Week = Two Ways to Have Fun

Another weekend, another fantastic race day!—thanks to all of those that showed up, whether to run or just spectate, for the Run for Jane in beautiful Isle of Hope.  The weather held, the course is always stunning, and the post-race goodies are always second to none.  A great time was had by all, if the sheer number of smiles I saw count for anything.

And now that I’ve stirred the pot and everyone’s all hopped-up on race day excitement, I’d like to invite you to a very busy weekend of fun and excitement for Fleet Feet Sports Savannah: one day (Saturday, September 12), two races (thus two ways to have fun) taking place at the exact same time.  At 8:00 A.M., youngsters ages 7-15 will be out at the Aquatic Center/Lake Mayer competing in the Safe Kids Savannah Youth Triathlon…while in downtown Savannah, near the Civic Center in Orleans Square, runners and walkers alike will be toeing the line for the always-stirring Tunnel to Towers 5K.  I can’t promise cool temps or clear skies, and I can’t promise blazing-fast times or deep-water views, but I can promise that your mind will be inspired and your heart warmed no matter what event you attend, just as long as you get out of bed and show up.  It’s events like these—and weekends like this—that make you proud to live in Savannah and to call yourself a runner/walker.  So grab a quick breakfast and get out the door; start your weekend off right!
