Top O' The Mornin'
Some people genuinely want to run the morning of the St. Patrick’s Day parade. And some people genuinely don’t, but feel they’ll need an excuse that allows them to have the various types of fun they’re planning for later in the day. Whatever group you lump yourself into, we’ve got the run for you: Fleet Feet’s own Top ó the Mornin’ Run. Fast or slow, wide awake or continually yawning, come join us for a pressure-free fun run this Friday, March 17 at 6:30 AM. Runners will meet at Fleet Feet and run through downtown Savannah, making sure to hit as many parts of the parade route (including where the floats are lined up) as they can on a 6-8 mile route. But there’s one catch: you have to be ready to say “top o’ the mornin’” to anyone and everyone you see, because the person receiving the most “top ó the mornin’” responses will receive a special prize when they get back to the store (this is the honor system, folks; don’t try to fuzzy-up your numbers, because truthfully, the prize just isn’t worth it). Plan on lots of stopping and starting throughout your run, because you’re sure to know at least a couple of the crazy people you’ll see out and about. Once the run is over, feel free to spend the remainder of your day doing whatever you’d like; holing up and watching a movie or reading a good book, or venturing back downtown to take in the parade and all the atmosphere it offers up. But here’s a tip if you do decide to head back out: take a shower before doing so…although you’re liable to smell better than most of the people still downtown by the end of the parade. Hope to see you this Friday at 6:30!
