runmoji? - AVAILABLE NOW!

Fleet Feet Sports, the retail leader in building and supporting thriving local running communities, announces the launch of runmoji™, an expressive messaging keyboard featuring 28 realistic and humorous emojis developed for the running community.

Featuring an assortment of people, places, and things specific to the culture of running, the app includes male and female runners running with a dog, a stroller, other runners, beer, wine (red and white), and alone. Subtle design elements on the runner runmojis include a ponytail on the female runner, athletic-looking apparel, and a jogging stroller.

“As runners ourselves and as a brand heavily engrained in the fabric of running communities across the country, we know how iconic and specific the sights, milestones, and feelings runners encounter are,” says Ellen Donahue, director of marketing for Fleet Feet Sports. “We saw a void in something that accurately represented those day-to-day experiences, and decided if we wanted something fun, meaningful, and truly representative of runners, we had the opportunity to create just that.”

In addition to the runner runmojis, other designs include a finish line, a race bib, a personal record badge, a depiction of “runner’s high,” a shoebox with new running shoes, a port-o-potty, a depiction of “hitting the wall,” bloody nipples, and a black toenail.

runmoji is free and available for download through Apple’s App Store. Users can expect regular updates with new products, brands, and event-based runmojis. An Android version is expected in early 2017.

“Our 166 Fleet Feet Sports stores are deeply invested in supporting their local running communities and are focused on runners—whether that’s providing the best pair of shoes, the right training program or the right piece of information or inspiration to keep runners moving,” says Donahue. “runmoji is just an extension of what our owners and staff do every single day—work to improve and grow the overall experience, enjoyment, and culture of running.”
