Everything You Need to Know About the Saucony Kinvara 8 'Chicago' Edition

It's peak marathon training season, which means the time of year has come where brands starts to unveil their Chicago themed designs in anticipation race day.

The first to debut their gear is Saucony. Going on three years, Saucony has created a exclusive, limited edition design of their most popular lightweight, neutral, high cushion shoe. The Saucony Kinvara. Yesterday, we revealed the design during a live unboxing video on Facebook. Today, we give you official images of this year's Chicago flag donned Saucony Kinvara 8 'Chicago'.

The shoe is made for a wide variety of runners from someone who is running a marathon to someone who is just going out for a few miles.  It is a neutral, high cushioned shoe made for someone who does not overpronate and who's foot does not roll inward into its medial side. The shoe features a 4mm heel-to-toe offset, meaning, when in the shoe, your heel is 4mm higher than your forefoot. This puts the foot in a neutral position aligning your body in a natural and leveled stance. Weighing in at just 7.9 ounces for men and 6.9 ounces for women, the EVA plus midsole technology provides a soft, lightweight cushioning without being bulky. This foam is topped with Saucony's new breakthrough EVERUN cushioned topsole. This new cushioning formula claims to give an 83% energy return.

Time for the juicy details. The men's shoe features a blue-to-black gradient. The blue used is similar to the pale blue used on the Chicago flag. The women's shoe features a clean red-to-white gradient. The red used is reminiscent to the red used in the 6 pointed stars in the Chicago flag, which actually mean something by the way.

The four, 6 pointed stars of the flag are displayed on the tongue, the internal arch strap, the Saucony logo, and the sock liner of the shoe. The word 'Chicago' is printed on the topsole and the pale blue and red colors are displayed throughout the upper and outsole.
