Looking for Stability Shoes from Hoka One One? Try the Arahi 2 and the Gaviota
Hoka One One aims to "free the pronators" with two models that use the brand's developed J-Frame technology, which provides support where you need.
Hoka One One entered the stability game just a year ago. Here's how they're making a name for themselves.
Hoka One One has always designed their shoes to provide runners with what they need in order to improve, regardless of how that may look or what the existing norms for designing shoes may be.
During the creation of their stability shoes, which first launched in early 2017, Hoka One One developed the J-Frame™ technology, which provides support where you need it – on the inside of your foot and around your heel – without using rigid materials that are typically used in stability shoes.
The J-Frame™ is made from Hoka One One's RMAT cushioning, which is a responsive, durable material made from blending EVA foam with rubber. They call this unique approach Dynamic Stability, which helps guide the foot through its natural gait cycle with a super smooth feel underfoot.
The Hoka One One Arahi 2 is the ideal shoe for runners who are looking for a light and fast shoe with pronation support.
The new Hoka One One Arahi 2 features the same J-Frame™ technology that launched in the first iteration, and now features a new upper with more breathability thanks to the 3D puff print frame for lightweight support just where you need it.
To maintain the underfoot feel and support of the original version, the midsole and outsole of the Arahi 2 are unchanged.
Additionally, the mesh lining within the heel is softer and smoother than the original, which should increase comfort while running. This medium-cushioned stability shoe is now available at all Fleet Feet Sports Chicago locations.

The Hoka One One Gaviota is the most supportive shoe in the brand's lineup and is similar to the Arahi 2, but with more cushioning, more support, and a softer sockliner.
Starting this week, the “big sister” to the Arahi – the Gaviota – will be making its debut in our stores (it’s been available from Hoka for the past year). The Gaviota uses the same J-Frame™ technology, but with more of the RMAT cushioned foam material extending to the big toe. This high-cushioned stability shoe also features a slightly wider frame for more stability than the Arahi, and an Ortholite sockliner for a super soft step-in feel. The Gaviota is now available at our Old Town, Lincoln Square, and Deerfield stores.
