Running the same route day after day can get boring. In some cases it can be a silent contributor to injury. Mix it up by countering your flat asphalt and sidewalk runs with some dirt, trails, and hills! Woodward Park
Woodward Park has hosted a variety of races spanning from elementary school meets all the way to NCAA events. The likes of Ryan Hall, German Fernandez, Meb Keflezighi, local greats like Fernando Cabada, Eduardo "Lalo" Herrera, CJ Albertson, and many others have run through the park at various distances. The park boasts the famous 5k course that hosts the Central Section Cross Country Championships and the California State Cross Country meets, a 4 mile course used by Fresno City College meets, a perimeter loop that connects with the Eaton Trail, and many paths throughout the park that make for an endless amount routes to run.
Running in Woodward Park allows you to connect with the Thomas MacMichael Sr. Loop Trail (a.k.a. "Cow Loop") to the north and many paths lead to the Lewis Eaton Trail which runs along the eastern and southern perimeters of the park.
