Meet the Staff

In 2005 the Fleet Feet Hickory team was built. Our owners, Juliet, and Stephen Horan wanted to create a store to help the Hickory running community find proper comfort. At Fleet Feet Hickory, we are blessed to have a team that truly knows running. Over the past 20 years, we have built a team of people who are committed to finding your perfect fit, whether it be for crushing your running goals or fixing discomfort. We strive to go above and beyond to get you into the right gear for whatever life brings at you.

Ethan Deffke- Inventory Manager and Outfitter

Ethan has been with Fleet Feet for over 7 years and brings our team deep product knowledge and hands-on experience. A former cross country and track athlete at Hickory High and Lenoir-Rhyne University, Ethan’s passion for running and gear makes him a go-to resource for customers and teammates.

Scot Hayward - Training Group Coordinator and Outfitter

Originally from Texas, Scot is our Training Group Coordinator and an experienced outfitter. Scot has been working with Fleet Feet Hickory for over 15 years and has been in the OT industry for even longer. He is constantly making sure you live up to your best potential and leave the store in the best fit. If you don't find Scot in the store or out running, he will most likely be spending time outdoors or with his family. 

Laura Jamison - Training Group Coordinator and Outfitter

Nate Leska- Manager and Outfitter

Delaney Deffke- Marketing and Communications Manager and Outfitter

Delaney brings energy and creativity to our team as the Marketing and Communications Manager. She also enjoys helping customers find the perfect gear to match their goals. As a former collegiate lacrosse player at the University of Montevallo, Delaney knows the value of staying active and pushing boundaries.

Mitchell Cook- RXM, Events Manager and Outfitter

Mitchell comes to us from Huntsville, Alabama, where he worked at Fleet Feet and ran competitively for the University of Alabama in Huntsville. With years of experience and a deep love for the sport, he's passionate about building community through events and great customer service.

Samuel Harris- Assistant Inventory Coordinator and Outfitter

Gladis Daaboul- Outfitter

Gladis is an avid runner and one of the most active members of our team. Known for her kindness and positive spirit, she loves helping customers find their perfect fit. When she’s not at the store, Gladis enjoys spending quality time with her family.

Dawn Yount- Outfitter

Ty Watts- Outfitter

Ty is a student at Lenoir-Rhyne University majoring in Exercise Science. He brings a solid understanding of movement and performance to the fitting floor. Outside of Fleet Feet, Ty stays active playing tennis and enjoying the outdoors.

Jordyn Horan - Outfitter 

Jordyn is the daughter of Juliet and Stephen and has lived and breathed Fleet Feet Hickory her whole life. Jordyn loves helping guide customers to what is best for them! When she is not working, you can find her studying or breaking pole vault records for Saint Stephens High School.

Dylan Jamison - Outfitter

Dylan has been passionate about running for over a decade. He started his journey competing in high school and now continues to stay active while studying at NC State. His energetic personality and deep knowledge of running make him a favorite among customers looking for expert guidance and a great in-store experience.
