Recycle Your Old Sneakers

Running and walking shoes tend to have a shorter life span than other shoes you wear day to day. They get beat up, get soaked in sweat and their cushioning often wears out before the upper is toast. When your trusty kicks are worn out bring them in! We can help you recycle your running shoes.

Where Will Your Shoes Go? 

We work with a number of local and national organizations to distribute the worn shoes we collect througout the year.

Some organizations include:

• Soles4Souls works to give impoverished people shoes so they can go to school, work and stay healthy. They even organize work trips for individuals and groups to give out the shoes.
  
  
• The MORE Foundation: We collect gently used athletic shoes for re-use and for funding reforestation.  We purchase seeds, establish nurseries, and teach/promote agroforestry.  Essentially, MORE implements self-sustaining tree farming.
  
  Currently engaged in reforestation projects in Ghana, The MORE Foundation has been establishing nurseries in protected school compounds where students are educated in the use of the MORE Farming System.  They germinate and distribute hundreds of thousands of fruit-bearing and income-producing saplings to these nurseries each year.  Trees are donated to isolated villages as well.
  
  
• Toni's Kitchen: We work closely with the Toni's Kitchen team and provide them with gently worn shoes that still have some life left in them that can be distributed on an as-need basis.
  
  
• Montclair Kiwanis Club: Every year the Montclair High School Kiwanis Club holds an athletic shoe drive fundraiser. The collected shoes are sold to a company that packages and ships them to an organization supporting a micro-loan program based in Africa. This initiative empowers women who refurbish these shoes with local labor and sell them to residents of their villages. The Kiwanis Club uses the money it receives to fund scholarships for graduating seniors who have done a lot of community service throughout the year.

How You Can Help? 

• Bring in your used and abused sneakers anytime during business hours. Give them to someone on the Fleet Feet Montclair team and we'll add them to our collection that will be distributed to one of our various partners.
