Our Story

In 1976, Sally Edwards and Elizabeth Jansen, friends and school teachers, opened a running store in a run-down Victorian manor in Sacramento. Though the odds were stacked against them -- two women opening a retail store in the 70s was essentially unheard-of -- they persisted through hardship and grew the brand slowly across California and, eventually, the United States. Today, Fleet Feet has over 250 franchise locations in 41 states, including 3 in Nebraska.

In 2017, Lori Borer decided to franchise the Red Dirt location in Omaha-Legacy under the Fleet Feet name. Since opening, she has stayed involved in the community through volunteering at local races, hosting events and group runs and gives back to the local community. In 2022, she expanded to a second location at Aksarben Village, carrying out the mission to keep Omaha active.

Our People

Community is at the heart of Fleet Feet. In the 8 years we've been in Omaha, we have helped the city build an amazing running community through our training programs, group runs, and events. We are still growing, and we are truly grateful for all the Fleet Feeters in the Omaha area!
