Your Safety Comes First
We take the decision to cancel group runs very seriously, and only do so when conditions make running unsafe. Runs will be canceled if any of the following are occurring—or expected to occur—at the scheduled start time:
Cold Weather
-
Actual temperature below 0°F
-
Real Feel (wind chill) below -15°F
-
Hazardous path conditions (ice, snow, etc.)
Heat & Air Quality
-
Heat index in the Danger or Extreme Danger zone (per NWS Heat Index)
-
Air Quality Index (AQI) of 151+ (What is AQI?)
Severe Weather
-
Dangerous conditions such as ice storms, hail, high winds, or tornado watches/warnings
-
Lightning in the area during a thunderstorm
How We’ll Communicate Cancellations
If a group run is canceled, we’ll share updates as quickly as possible via email to those registered in our free run club (join the team here!) and our social media accounts:

-
Facebook: Fleet Feet Pittsburgh
Please check these channels before you leave for a run if weather conditions look questionable.
Your well-being is our priority, and we’ll always err on the side of caution so we can keep logging miles together for years to come.
