Hey Mama, how’s it been since we last talked!? Fall has been beautiful so far in Upstate NY! But we all know with changing weather and school starting, illness comes knockin' on our doors! I had three on antibiotics for ear infections. We had a nasty cough that clung to my kid's breath and didn’t want to leave. We were back to newborn-tired for about two weeks. But finally, most of the littles are sleeping again! Amidst the chaos of sick kids, lack of sleep, and clinging to Mama for comfort, healthy(ish) eating and exercise has taken a back seat.
This setback got me thinking of my new years resolution: New Year, New Me! January 2022 I vowed to myself that I’d prioritize my body. For me, that looked like being mindful of what I was eating (not just leftover kid PBJ) and trying to move my body with purpose. A.K.A.: Going for a walk instead of chasing the kids around as activity. I’d like to think that months 1 through 10 have been pretty good so far! And now, I am writing to remind this awesome community (and honestly, myself) that we have two more months until the new year and we can keep our resolutions for 2022 alive and kickin!
So I am here to ask, what were your goals for 2022? Did they change as the year progressed? Did you follow through on your ideas or have they lapsed? Let’s be clear - I am in no way pointing fingers. It’s nice to be reminded of our hopes and dreams in a fresh start. Sometimes those personal goals are pushed aside by work, family situations, traveling, celebrations and holidays. It is never too late to start a healthy habit, and while cultural things like January 1 can be helpful, they are not the only time of year to make change.
For me, this looks like drinking water and squeezing in a walk for some fresh fall air!
Sending you love and energy as we approach the holiday season, Mama! Until next time!
