A fan-favorite feature of the Superior 5 is the removable StoneGuard rockplate that allows the shoe to easily transition from soft surfaces to more technical terrain. The rockplate works with Altra’s specially designed MaxTrac outsole to provide multi-directional traction and protection from uneven terrain. Altra Quantic midsole foam creates the responsive, nimble feel signature to the Superior 5.

Love Superior 5
Superior 5 is my favorite trail runner of all time. This is my third pair. Flexible tough and enough cushion/protection while still being relatively low to the ground. Love the foot shape and zero drop. Unfortunately the V6 model is a bit more narrow in the forefoot so I was excited to find these V5’s.
