Features

Be ready for every run with the men's Altra Torin 7.

Every step will be plush and comfortable thanks to Altra’s EGO™ MAX midsole. Designers added 2 mm more of this soft and bouncy cushioning to provide even more enjoyment underfoot. Fleet Feet runners loved the new cushioning, with one commenting in our Altra Torin 7 review "it’s soft and flexible with enough responsiveness to keep my feet engaged throughout the run. Flexible is a key word here because having shoes that move with me as I run makes a huge difference!"

One of the best neutral running shoes, the Torin 7 gives a smooth and reliable ride for runners and walkers of all abilities. It has Altra’s signature balanced cushioning or zero heel-to-toe drop, which means that there’s the same amount of cushion in the heel and forefoot for a more natural ride.

The new engineered mesh upper gives you comfort and breathability with an evolved molded heel collar for a locked-in fit. A redesigned tongue and wider lacing give you a plush feel and better fit for a variety of foot types.

The Torin 7 has Altra’s signature wide forefoot that gives your toes room to wiggle and has Altra’s Standard Fit that is in between its roomier Original Fit and sleeker Slim Fit.

The Altra Torin 7 lets you rack up the miles in comfort. Watch Caroline in our Altra Torin 7 video review below to learn more.

What’s New

The Altra Torin 7 has a lot of exciting new updates. Altra redesigned the upper, making it lighter and more breathable. They widened the base as well as the lacing system to fit the foot and tweaked the molded heel collar, making it a bit wider for a locked-in feel. The tongue has been completely redesigned for more comfort. Finally, they added 2mm of EGOâ„¢ MAX midsole cushioning to provide more comfort and reformulated the EGO MAX cushioning to make it lighter. Even with all of the changes, the shoe actually weighs slightly less.

Who It’s Best For

The Altra Torin 7 is a great neutral shoe for walking, running, general gym work and a great everyday sneaker. It works well for people who want a lower heel to toe drop and/or wider forefoot.

Why You’ll Love It

You will love running in the cushioned and bouncy Torin 7 since it allows you to run lots of miles and wiggle your toes.

Great First Impression

Brian G 11 months ago Verified Purchase

These shoes fit great right out of the box (which is rare for me.) I like their responsiveness and cushioning. Also the upper feels less constricting than the Torin 6. I haven’t put in many miles with them yet though like what I see thus far.

Still Missing The Mark

SH 1 year ago Verified Purchase

The Torin 7 is better than previous iteration but still misses the mark. Even with a wide size the footshape is still too restrictive...why not the original footshape any longer? Also the opening is somewhat hard at the top and caused painful rubbing just wearing the shoe around the house for a couple of hours. Lastly the laces are so short that there is no way one could tie a lockdown knot. I have been hoping that Altra can get the Torin back to being a go to shoe and I guess the wait continues. I hope Fleet Feet is able to share this feedback with Altra as well.
