Torins are my daily road trainer, and I primarily run road to train for the trail. These replaced a pair of Torin 7s, which were a bit to "squishy" for my liking. I like Torins because they have a similar fit to the Lone Peaks I run trail in. The 8s are more stable but are still a much more comfy ride than the Escalante, in my opinion. The 8s feel lighter than the 7s, and the toe box is still wide but not bulky. My only complaint - after their first run in wet weather, one of the soles made a popping sound with every step. The sound went away after the shoes dried out. Same thing happened with my 7s - but no long-term durability issues seemed to occur.
I don't use them for running. I've been looking for shoes that are comfortable for yrs. I found these work very well. The wide toe is a must to prevent ingrown toenails. Outer material seems to breaking down faster than I'd like and feet do get wet if there is 1" wet ground. Other than that I really like the shoes.
I’ve been buying wide fit and extra wide fit shoes but I really just needed a wide toe box shoe. This one in a normal width fits my toes just fine! I’ll likely be buying this shoe again when the time comes.
Love the fit & feel. I'm not a runner, but traveling to Boulder in 2024, my girl and I decided to do the Boulder Bolder (or is it Bolder Boulder?) on a whim. I only had my 10 year old travel running shoes amd my feet paid a price, so I went to Fleet Feet after returning to Wilmington NC and they put me in these zero drop, wide toe shoes. Loved them ever since!
