Who It’s Best For
The Via Olympus can work well for a wide variety of runners. But there are two unique attributes to be aware of: It has Altra’s unique FootShape toe box that looks a little more squared off to help accommodate the actual shape of your foot, and it sits on a 0 mm heel-to-toe drop, which can take some getting used to.
Why You’ll Love It
The big bed of EGO Max foam makes it comfortable for lots of miles, but it’s light enough that you won’t notice any unnecessary weight on your feet. If you’re not running, it’s a great shoe for walking the dog or standing all day at work.

Better than Hoka!
Altra Via Olympus is a great fit very comfortable and I can wear them all day. The wide toe box is great for my foot especially since my toes are square across the top. I used to wear Hoka but Altra is a much better fit. Thank you!

My favorite running shoes
Best running shoes I’ve ever owned. I have a wide flat foot. I’m also more of a heel striker and these keep me from hurtling. I have 3 pairs and I might buy another if they change the next model too much.

BIG DIFFERENCE VS. CURRENT SHOES!
Took a few days for my feet to adjust but purchased primarily for two things: larger toe boot and better cushioning. Lucky me; I inherited my mother's feet so bunions and toes wanting to cross over. Why these shoes are perfect for that.

New to Running
I am entering my sixth decade and never really liked to run. I agreed to run a half marathon with my daughter so I needed a comfortable running shoe. The assistance I received at FleetFeet with not only my fit but understanding my needs as a rookie runner led me to Altra Via Olympus. Finding a shoe with the right width was paramount and this model delivered. My experience so far is wonderful as I have had no issues with my feet and the overall comfort of each run/session has exceeded my expectations for a Clydesdale @ 225lbs. Overall the Altra Via Olympus is a fine running shoe.

Best Yet
These shoes are amazing. Altra stepped it up with the stylistic element of this shoe. It's super stylish and looks really cool on the feet. It's very light weight. Lots of stack height that is pretty firm but it feels really good and supportive. It took me a few runs to get used to these but they cruise like a yacht now. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a max-cushion road shoe that doesn't want to look like a nurse.
