Features

Pick up the pace in the men's Brooks Hyperion Tempo.

Brooks debuted its new DNA Flash midsole foam in the Hyperion Tempo. The nitrogen-infused foam delivers maximum energy return at a minimum weight so you can keep up the pace.

Engineered as a neutral everyday training and racing shoe, the Hyperion Tempo helps keep you running in your body’s preferred motion path. The more natural running motion allows you to save energy and run longer.

Brooks draped the Tempo in an accommodating stretch woven mesh upper for the right combination of performance, comfort and breathability. The comfortable upper lets you run for miles and miles without any unnecessary distractions. Our testers loved the lightweight feel in our Brooks Hyperion Tempo Review.

Quick & Responsive

Love this shoe. It’s quick and responsive for speed days but has enough cushion to get through longer runs. Of all the shoes in my closet this is the one I get most excited about putting on.

My Race Shoe

Randy B 3 years ago Verified Purchase

This shoe is very light and fast while providing excellent traction and responsiveness. I have narrow feet and these shoes fit great. These shoes are comfortable but their not the soft plush shoes for long runs. They are somewhat firm which I like and run up to 15K’s or 1/2 marathons in them but rarely train in them for long runs. Mostly used for 3-8 mile tempo runs. My high school son also trains in the fir cross country and track and he loves them as well.

Great Shoe!

JAMES 4 years ago Verified Purchase

Overall a great shoe. I have done everything from easy long runs to interval work to short race-like efforts with a bunch of easy days and long tempos in between and this shoe is great for all of these. You get just the right amount of supportive cushion that becomes firm and responsive as you pick up the pace. I currently have around 150 miles on these and can tell they're going to give me at least 150 more so durability does not seem to be an issue. The upper feels weird to the touch but is lightweight and breathable while offering more support than a knit or mesh upper. Outsole grip on wet surfaces could be a little bit better but is otherwise fine. Honestly my biggest drawback with the Hyperion Tempo is that Brooks doesn't seem to realize what a great shoe they have made and I worry they'll ruin it with an update or just straight up discontinue it to push the more expensive carbon-plated Hyperion Elite. THIS is the shoe they should market the way they do the uninspiring clunkers like the Levitate & Ghost (both of which I have owned in the past few years). For the same price as the Levitate and $20 more than the Ghost you get a much more versatile shoe you can use for any kind of training run and can race from the 5K through the marathon.

Lightweight good fit nice cushion

Have been running in Saucony Kinvara 11 and New Balance Beacons lately and wanted to mix it up as the Saucony's are just a tad snug and I don't like the styling as much on the current Beacons. Very happy with the Hyperion Tempo as the strike a good balance between weight and cushioning. They feel slightly better cushioned and snappier than the Kinvara 11 although not quite as much so as the original Beacon. The fit was good for me not too big and not too small. These along with the Beacon will be my go to shoe for interval and long days. As a point of reference I'm a triathlete running 30 ish miles per week 5'11 180lbs with around 41 min 10k time.

Excellent running shoe

Set a PR second time I ran in shoe on a 5K. Very comfortable and fit is great. I have narrow feet and shoe fits good. Honestly not worn Brooks shoes in quite some time but these Hyperion's are great. Highly recommend for fast light racing shoes.

WOW! Best shoe I have run in for a LONG time.

I was convinced a competitor's new training shoe with the carbon plate was going to be my shoe but after a few runs it was obvious that my foot and that shoe did not mesh. Thankfully I go to Fleet Feet because Jeff was the one to recommend the Brooks Hyperion Tempo shoes. I honestly never heard of them. After one run I knew this was an awesome shoe after 3 runs it just got better. Great upper really hugs your foot without any pinching at all. SUPER light shoe but my old knees don't feel like I am giving up cushion thanks to this new nitrogen infused foam. Could not be happier with a shoe. Thanks again Fleet Feet.
