The Speedgoat 6 is like all the past versions in great quality, soft cushion for the distance trails give and light weight for their size. The issue is the sizing change this model. Its a half size smaller now so my 10.5 is now an 11. Several other runners I know noticed too. Additionally could use more protection in the heal. The indent of the shoe in the heal leads to a minimal protection from rock impact.
Fit and Performance
No dropoff from previous models in my opinion, to me this is the best overall trail shoe. I hike, run and race in these with no issues and they're perfect for the technical terrain we have here in the Northeast. Sometimes the Vibram starts to fade earlier than you want, but that is due to the terrain. The cushion feels like it'll last to 1,000 miles.
They are okay. I bought them hoping to wear them on my Camino, but they aren't something I would want to wear on a 500 mile hike.
