New Balance Fresh Foam Hierro v6
Features
The men's New Balance Fresh Foam Hierro v6 delivers big cushion and confident traction for your off-road adventures.
New Balance engineered the new Hierro to tackle any condition the trail throws at you. A TPU infused woven upper is lightweight, breathable and more durable in high-wear areas. Plus, New Balance included recycled materials in the heel, collar and tongue to help reduce your carbon footprint.
Underneath, designers employed a pillowy Fresh Foam midsole. The proven foam composition feels soft on landings and bouncy on takeoffs for an engaging ride.
To connect you to the trail, New Balance added a Vibram outsole studded with rubber lugs. The outsole adds traction on slippery rocks and roots, and the lugs help dig into soft or loose trails to keep you on your feet.
When the pavement ends, the men's New Balance Fresh Foam Hierro v6 takes over.

best road to trail shoe I've ever worn
The Hierro V6 is a versatile shoe. casual gym jogging everyday hiking it can do it all and is the best road to trail shoe I've ever worn. The fresh foam X is super cushioned the vibram sole is not too aggressive but great grip on wet surfaces. The shoe is extra padded for comfort. The only thing it doesn t have is gore tex...but they make a version with Gore tex if you like. Great shoes. I own several pairs.
Hierro V6
The shoes have a very soft sole with a little spring which is great since I wear them every day for work on concrete floors. The toe box is nice and wide with no rubbing. As far as hiking is concerned I'm sure they'll be just as good as every NB trail shoe that I've owned in the past. The lugs are flat which is great for wearing regularly as opposed to trail only shoes that have deep tread. The back mud flap does nothing for me but get hit on steps. Not a deal breaker just annoying at times. Wish the inside logo was like the N on the outside of the shoe for consistency. And the blue/ green color that I got looks good but is the only decent color option. There definitely needs to be other color options that are less obnoxious. In summary they're great comfy shoes that I wear daily for up to 10 hours. My feet never hurt and the break in period was almost non existent. I have bought 3 pairs so far even with one being defective if that tells you anything about how much I enjoy the ride.
