On Cloudstratus 3
Features
The On Cloudstratus 3 gives you cushioning, comfort and sustainability for a winning combination. The rolling sensation of this daily trainer will help push you forward on your runs to help you go just a little further. One of the best cushioned shoes out there, the double layer of On’s CloudTec technology not only looks cool but makes your feet feel like royalty. Plus, the Cloudstratus 3 is made with even more recycled materials, so you can feel good about helping out the planet.
Features
- Upper: 100% Recycled Polyester Engineered Mesh. The newest Cloudstatus has removed all TPU and plastic overlays to be more eco-friendly and give it a sleeker look. An improved heel collar increases the comfort level both when you first step into the shoe as well as during your run. Our runners noticed it went up a little higher than usual in our On Cloudstratus 3 review.
- Midsole: a combination of Helion™ Superfoam with a double layer of CloudTec and a Speedboard®. The Speedboard® is made of a nylon blend that maximizes your energy return and rolls you forward. The Helion™ Superfoam has been re-engineered to make it softer, especially when connected with the double layer of CloudTec technology that disperses your impact and provides cushioned landings.
- Outsole: an updated rubber grip compound provides even more traction on the road. Designers reworked the base geometry to prevent rocks from collecting in the shoe.

Redesign isn't the same super-great shoe
I've worn the Stratus 2.0 for several races. The 2.0 was both plush and fast and probably the best shoe I've ever worn. Unfortunately the 3.0 made one change that makes the shoe uncomfortable: a new much (much) higher ankle collar. Now I feel like my angles are being dug into by the sides of the shoe. I loved the 2.0 but unfortunately returned the 3.0.
