Altra Outroad
Features
Don’t limit yourself to the road or trails—choose both in the Altra Outroad.
The Altra Outroad is the perfect hybrid road-to-trail shoe. Based off of the Altra Rivera, this shoe has the same Altra EGO™ midsole for a responsive, yet cushioned ride and is built on Altra’s slim fit last, which fits narrower than other Altra shoes yet still has the rounded FootShaped ™ toe box.
Take on those gravel roads and single track trails, the MaxTrac™ outsole and multi-direction lug pattern are perfect to handle trail conditions but won’t feel cumbersome while on the road.
A light and thin upper in the front allows for breathability, while it is a bit more protective and cushioned in the heel to give you a secure, lockdown feel. Plus, it has a reinforced toe to protect against rocks and branches. The Outroad is less bulky than other trail shoes to give you the familiar step-in feel of road shoes.
The Altra Outroad lets you run wherever the road takes you.

Trail Racing - yes!
Raced the Pilot Mtn Goat 7 miler with these and shoes survived!
Comfortable everyday shoe
Fits well and is comfortable. Does fit different then other Altra shoes since it is narrowerer in the toe box. Comfortable for walking and running over varied terrain. I would keep it to 80% road and 20% trail.
Great hiking shoe for me
I have 4 pairs of Altra Outroad I use them for hiking. I’ve hiked many miles in the Outroad and over a variety of tough terrain love them. The tread doesn’t last as long as a hiking boot or other hiking shoes but I hike in these for the comfort no foot issues blisters etc.
They squeek
The style and fit are great. Unfortunately the left shoe has quickly developed a loud and annoying squeak. I love the shoes but can’t wear them because if this. Any suggestions?
