Local legend says if you hear the tolling bells of Saint Michael’s Church, you are in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood. With residential streets lined with Victorian-era homes, many erected after the Great Chicago Fire, Old Town is home to the celebrated Wells Street Art Festival and the Old Town Art Fair, along with the world-renowned Second City, where many famous comedic actors of the past and present began their journey to television and movie stardom. Fleet Feet Chicago has called Old Town home since 1996 when the original – and small – location opened its doors for business on North Avenue.
Over the years, Fleet Feet Chicago has moved three times. In the fall of 2017, we moved our flagship store to Lincoln Park monument and historical Crilly Court on North Wells Street, the same building that was once home to two comedic legends, John Candy and Bill Murray.
Our flagship retail store is more than just a store. We use it to host seminars, fun runs, and special events and best serve the vibrant Chicago running community. It’s the home base for the Fleet Feet Racing Team; it also boosts a Fleet Feet Training Program, and the Fleet Feet Running Club gathers every Monday and Thursday night.
Parking/Public Transit
Metered street parking is available on both Wells Street and North Avenue. There is also on-street parking in the neighborhood.
The store is accessible from the Sedgwick stop on the CTA Brown Line.
