Selecting Sustainable Partners

We maintain longstanding partnerships with brands at the forefront of sustainability. Key partners like HOKA, Brooks, and Mizuno lead the industry in taking aggressive climate action – including sustainable sourcing, development, and production – while partners like ON and GU encourage sustainable consumption. As we continue to expand our product selection, new partnerships with sustainability-first brands like Jogology keep environmental consciousness central to our operations.

Responsible Operations Practices

Sustainability best practices guide our in-store operations every step of the way. We use paper bags for customer purchases, and whenever possible, staff reuse shipping materials and other supplies to reduce the need for virgin plastics and other non-recycled materials in the fulfillment process. Transfers of product between stores occurs in batches to eliminate excess travel and fuel waste.

We host several races and recurring running events each year, and we repurpose race supplies to mitigate waste. Annual events like The Big Run and other, local, fundraising events provide unclaimed shirts and medals from previous races to participants. 

Championing Sustainable Programs

We encourage customers and community members to bring worn shoes into the store to recycle in partnership with the One Million Trees Project. Almost ten years’ of donations have helped plant hundreds of trees and offset hundreds of tons of carbon.

Trash cleanup events with brand partners like Mizuno have cleared dozens of bags of trash from local green spaces, and future events with local organizations reinforce our commitment to keeping community running spaces clean and clear.

Conservation-oriented Development 

Our recent purchase of Flying Feet in York, PA, necessitated an overhaul to store processes and procedures. Individually printed barcodes were eliminated in favor of pre-printed options, eliminating packaging waste, and recycling options were implemented for product packaging and shipping materials.
