“Judging by the lugs and the relative thinness of the midsole, I didn’t think that these shoes would feel soft at all. I was pleasantly surprised by just how soft the new Altra Lone Peak 6 is,” says one reviewer.

“The Lone Peak strikes a really nice balance of offering protection from the elements while still providing a strong feeling of ground contact,” says one reviewer. “That gave me confidence on the trail.”

Reviewers also noticed how natural and comfortable the shoes felt on their runs.

“Once I start running, I stop noticing the shoe, which I think is a testament to the natural feel that the Lone Peak provides,” another reviewer says. “It’s like the shoe becomes an extension of my body.”

If you have to run through a puddle or even a stream, drain ports on the toe box and the medial sides of the shoes help shed excess water.

A reinforced toe cap provides an extra layer of protection for your feet on tricky terrain. Long, textured laces ensure a lockdown fit with no accidental unties.

“It’s a small detail, but I like the material that the laces are made with. They are textured, which seems to help them stay tied and not come undone,” one reviewer says.
