Hopefully by now you have seen our “Love Letter” to the Syracuse running community in "Run This Town." We thought it would be a great idea to give you a behind-the-scenes look at how this film was made, how the subject matter was selected and other assorted information on this short film, which is seeing record views in and outside of our community.

"Run This Town" was produced by Ashley Arnold, who has a running resume that many would envy. A successful runner in college, Ashley turned to ultra racing and won the most prestigious race in trail running, the Leadville 100. Leadville covers 100 miles at elevations from 9,200- to 12,600-feet elevation. The multiple time trials running champion now works full time for Fleet Feet Sports.
"Run This Town" was filmed in October of 2016 and Ashley selected all of the subject matter. She spent many hours researching and talking to people in the community and had to fit everything into a five-day shooting schedule.
While in Syracuse, the production crew stayed at an Airbnb location that turned out to be student housing near Syracuse University.
Not sure what it means that Ashley picked Empire Brewing, Kitty Hoynes, Eastwood Brewing, Beak and Skiff and 1911 Cider and Spirits as locations to shoot from. Clearly her research shows that Syracuse-area runners like to get together with drinks and food.
"Run This Town," was funded by New Balance and Fleet Feet Sports.
If you have not seen Run This Town, be sure to set a side 20 minutes to celebrate running in Syracuse and as your contribution, share with as many as possible.
Happy Holidays!
