Fleet Feet's No Boundaries 5K & 10K Winter Training
Thanksgiving Day may be over, but the season of thanks, of giving, and of light is still upon us.
With all the festivities spanning the next month, how are you going to keep your health and wellness in check? If you ask the recent graduates of our fall No Boundaries programs, they will tell you running with friends and staying accountable to a team is the trick to consistency and fun! I mean, who would go out in this weather if it wasn’t for their team?!
Thanks
We spent last week thinking about the things we’re most thankful for. Family, friends, and health are usually top contenders. Beyond that, I am thankful for the opportunity to work with such a positive group of coaches and athletes. The No Boundaries teams are a unique crew and I’m lucky to cheer them on each week!
Giving
For the active people on your holiday lists, consider a certificate to join Fleet Feet’s Distance Training team! Or maybe for the finicky fitness fanatic, a Fleet Feet gift card! Don’t forget to give yourself the gift of fitness this holiday season and sign up for the No Boundaries 5K or 10K teams, both starting soon to help get you through the holiday season and into the new year!
Light
With fewer daylight hours, we have to find our own light. Some of us light candles, turn on lamps or strings of lights; all offer warmth throughout the season. When you’re out for a run or walking the dog, be sure you’re well lit to keep safe while on the roads. Grab one of the cute $10 Nathan lights in a variety of colors with both steady and strobe lighting to clip onto your winter gear to help cars and other pedestrians see you. And don’t forget a headlamp so you can see the road in front of you, or maybe assist when searching the attic for the decorations!
No matter how you plan to spend the season, I hope it’s a happy and healthy one. See you out at the park!
No Boundaries Begin-to-Run 5K Training begins this Saturday, December 7th. The 10K team will start up the following weekend on December 14th. Come join the fun this winter!
