The spring, summer and fall race calendar in Central New York is always jam-packed! With so many great events happening locally, it can sometimes be hard to decide what to do. That's why we've asked Central New York race directors and organizers to tell us "Why Their Race Rocks!" We want to know what about their event sets them apart? What's new? Different? Unique? May 23, 2020 - The 7th Annual Good Samaritan Run/Walk

We invite you to come on out and show your support of our annual event as one of CNY's premier Spring races. This year’s race event will begin at 10 a.m. at Long Branch Park in Liverpool. Cost is $25 for the 5K (Children 12 and under are free for the 5K) and $30 for the 10K per participant. Timing Company ‘Score This’ will be tracking participants’ timing results. The 10K certified course is an out and back on the West Shore Trail of Onondaga Lake. The 5K certified course is out and back on the East Shore trail of the lake. The event includes a Kids’ Sprint ($10 per child) for ages 5-12 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Choice of (pictured) Long or Short sleeve custom shirt with registration by April 4th. Awards ceremony, concession stands, family-oriented activities, live music, and vendors are included with the event. Medals awarded to all 10K Finishers and Top 3 in each Male/Female age group in the 5K.
Exciting news as this year's medals are a new Holographic design! Plus instead of the normal plastic swag bag, this year the race is giving away a reusable tote to all registrants with our cool GSR 2020 BE KIND design.

The course winds through historic Cazenovia. The party afterwards is a chili contest featuring area restaurants with baked goodies, beverages and live music inside the Caz College Athletic Center.

I Run for Pi

We all run for one reason or another, let's add "Running for Pi" to the list! On 3.14.19. All participants will receive Pi(e) related food items and beverages. After the Award Ceremony you are invited to head over to the Angry Garlic in Baldwinsville to enjoy a sampling of Southern Tier Brewery's new low Calorie craft beer, SwipeLite and enjoy food specials along with hanging out with friends. This year all participants will receive a custom Winter Beanie and a Finisher Medal. All proceeds benefit the Baldwinsville Robotics Club who qualified for the Robotics World Championship for the third consecutive year!

Fairhaven 14th Annual Run for Hospice of the Finger Lakes

Why does your race ROCK? This is a certified 5K fun run that is part of the many Fourth of July festivities in Fair Haven, NY and runs along scenic Little Sodus Bay. This has become a great community event, with proceeds benefitting Hospice of the Finger Lakes.

Alexa’s Friends 5k

Alexa’s friends is a fun community family event that features live music by Prime Time. 5k to benefit Alexa's Friends Fund. Ribbons of Gold Cancer Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, in Baldwinsville, New York, and is dedicated to promoting children's cancer awareness. Our founder's daughter, Alexa, who was diagnosed with stage IV Ewing's Sarcoma, is the inspiration behind our non-profit organization. On one of her earliest visits to the hospital, Alexa noticed that the hospital towels were scratchy and uncomfortable on her bald head. She asked her parents to bring a fluffy character towel from home, which she found soothing and more comfortable. In spite of everything she is facing in her own fight against cancer, this gave her an idea to help other children. She decided to raise money to provide a nice, fluffy character towel to each pediatric cancer patient upon admission to the hospital in the hopes that it would brighten their day and make their stay at the hospital just a little more comfortable. All proceeds from this race will go towards the purchase of hooded towels for pediatric cancer patients.

This is a challenging courses with lots of hills and a beautiful section on a shaded gravel road in the woods that makes the whole thing worthwhile! Great people, positive atmosphere, and a Fall Festival to check out immediately following the run!
