Shoes for Houston: A plea for help from a Texas native
As part of a coordinated relief effort, Fleet Feet Sports stores across the country are accepting donations of new or gently used running shoes to send to our stores in Texas. Fleet Feet Sports of Greater Houston and Fleet Feet Sports San Antonio will work to get these shoes to organizations and people in need. Our thoughts remain with the people, communities and businesses affected by Hurricane Harvey and the flooding taking place in its aftermath. #shoesforhouston
Fleet Feet Sports, Syracuse has been collecting donations since Monday and we are truly touched by this community's generosity during the heartbreaking time of need. Thanks to all who have donated! We will continue to accept donations of shoes that are in good condition now through Monday, September 4th. You can drop of adult or youth sneakers at our stores in DeWitt and Clay.
Jake Champagne, a Fleet Feet Sports, Syracuse sales rep who lives locally is originally from Beaumont, Texas, which is about 100 miles east of Houston. Earlier this week, Jake spoke with owner Ed Griffin more about what his family is experiencing and why the area needs help.
