Insole Fittings

We have been fitting shoes since 2006 - that's a lot of feet!! One thing we've learned in all those years, is that the shoe is not the only solution. The shoe is PART of the solution but it is not the magic bullet to solve all foot issues. Often, adding a proper fitting insole (insert) is exactly what the foot needs to offer relief. We recommend Superfeet insoles as part of a proper shoe fit.

Think of it this way....the foot is a 3D structure. Whether you have a flat arch or a rigid arch, every foot has an arch. For the foot to move properly and to be as comfortable as possible, the goal is to maintain the 3D tripod shape of the foot. However, when you put your foot inside a shoe, it is flat inside. Even though the shoe is built with the best foam technology to support the foot against the ground, there is nothing inside the shoe to support the arch of the foot. The shoe protects the foot against the ground, but nothing supports the foot INSIDE the shoe unless you add an insole.

A foot with a high rigid arch can handle a more rigid insole than a very flexible foot. Often, it can take some time to adapt to the feel of the insole. It can definitely feel awkward at first! But...once you've adapted to the feel- it changes everything.
