ASICS Magic Speed
Features
Designed to be durable enough for daily training, responsive enough for speedwork and light enough for race day, the ASICS Magic Speed boasts the best of ASICS’ fastest technologies.
Built on a bed of responsive FF Blast midsole foam, the Magic Speed is designed to push the pace. The springy, lightweight foam cushions each landing while remaining responsive enough to propel each toe-off forward.
This midsole foam works with ASICS Guidesole technology and an asymmetrical carbon fiber plate in the forefoot to create a pronounced toe spring that delivers smooth transitions and a propulsive feel. The carbon plate in the forefoot works to reduce ankle flexion and creates high energy returns with each step, so you can run more efficiently.
The ASICS Magic Speed is topped off with a super-light, engineered mesh upper that is flexible yet durable to withstand high speeds and daily training. Perforations in the mesh add extra ventilation to keep you cool and comfortable while you run.

ASICS Magic Speed
Not a bad shoe but as far as a tempo shoe goes the competition such as the Saucony Endorphin 2 are better. They feel more like an every day trainer then a platted tempo shoe.

Good shoe for uptempo long runs and track workouts
Time to tempo
I’ve found ASICS shoes to work best for my feet - flat no arch and with a narrow ankle. About as far from the ideal as possible!! However the shoe fits snugly is light and very responsive. I’ve used it for runs ranging from 5 - 15 km so far and not experienced any issues. Not sure how it would hold up to long runs of 25+ km (which i use the Glideride for). Only criticism is that to save weight the tongue is super thin and it may take a few runs to dial in your preferred level of tension - to lock in your foot without causing discomfort
