Nike Celebrates Mo Farah's Final 10000M Win With a Limited Edition Colorway

Celebrating Mo Farah's 10000M victory on Friday at the 2017 IAAF World Track & Field Championships in London, Nike debuted the limited-edition Nike Zoom Pegasus 34 'Mo', which pays tribute to one of the greatest distance runners of all time.

Friday's victory only adds to Farah's impressive resume of championships. After a Silver Medal performance in the 10,000 meters at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea, Farah came back just a few days later to win Gold in the 5,000 meters, which started a golden streak that has yet to be broken. Farah has won every single World Championship & Olympic Gold Medal at both the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters since Daegu, and after taking the gold in the 10,000 meters on Saturday, he looks to continue that streak in front of his home-crowd in London next weekend in the 5,000 meter race.

But Friday's win didn't come easy.

"It was one of the toughest races of my life," Farah said. "The guys really gave it to me. It was all about how do you beat Mo. You had the Kenyans, the Ethiopians, the Ugandans all working as a team against me. Fair play to them, they worked it hard."

To cement his legendary status, Farah also stated he was kicked and tripped and almost fell twice during the late stages of the race.

"I've got such a long stride I got caught twice and at that point I was just trying to stand up", he explained ."I am hurt. I just had to be strong. I've got a few cuts and bruises, just recover and get ready for the 5k. I've got enough days."

Starting from the inside of the shoe, the sock-liner showcases the locations of Mo Farah’s World Championship & Olympic Gold Medal performances, which now includes his triumph this past Saturday in the 10,000 meters where he withstood numerous challenges from a bevy of top distance runners from Kenya, Ethiopia and Uganda, and twice almost tripping and falling on the last lap, to unleash a blistering kick over the last 100 meters to take the gold, his 10th consecutive gold medal in a global track and field final, in 26:49, which is also a world best at the distance for 2017. And to further burnish the victory, his win on Saturday came five years to the day and on the same track where he won the 10,000 meters during the 2012 London Summer Olympics.

The tongue showcases Farah’s iconic “M” that his competitors have grown used to seeing as he celebrates a victory. The Swoosh features the British flag, Farah’s home-country and the location of this year’s World Championships.
