Fleet Feet Training Weather Cancellation Policy
At Fleet Feet Chicago, your safety is our top priority. We carefully consider all factors before deciding to cancel group runs. While unpredictable weather is part of training, we will cancel workouts under the following conditions to ensure the safety of all participants, coaches, and staff:
Conditions for Cancellation
Cold Weather:
- True Temperatures below 0°F
- Dangerous path conditions, such as heavy ice or snow accumulation
Heat/Air Quality:
- Heat index within the Danger or Extreme Danger zone (per NWS Heat Index)
- Air Quality Index (AQI) of 151 or higher (refer to Fleet Feet Blog guidelines)
Severe Weather:
- Ice storms, hail, high winds, or tornado watches/warnings

Participant Responsibility
While we make every effort to keep you informed, it’s ultimately your decision whether to participate in group runs or events. Always assess the weather and ensure you feel safe and comfortable before joining. We may modify or adjust workouts as needed based on conditions, but we will not cancel sessions for light rain or snow, after all, you never know what race day might bring!

- Email notifications via the Final Surge platform.
For FUN RUNS:
- Store-specific Facebook and Instagram pages – This is the primary method for updates.
