Join the tens of thousands of people who challenge themselves every year to the fastest growing distance race in the country – the half marathon! We welcome those who are also training for another summer half marathon or building up to a fall full marathon.

MEET AND GREET PROGRAM KICK-OFF
Saturday, May 31, 2025 @ 8:30 a.m.
Fleet Feet Madison (8440 Old Sauk Rd.)
30-minute fun run option at 7:45 a.m. before kick-off.
Join us for a morning to celebrate the start of summer training! We’ll have coffee, promotions, raffle items, and more! This meeting will primarily be informational and is an excellent opportunity to introduce you to the coaches and answer questions. Plan for approximately 45 minutes to one hour of discussion. We will cover safety concerns and requirements, training plans and program details, group run protocol, the best gear for a successful training session, and discuss how we can help meet your needs this season. We recommend all new and returning athletes attend this meeting.
GROUP RUNS (2X/WEEK)
- Wednesdays @ 6:00 p.m.
- Saturdays @ 7:00 a.m.
Meeting locations: Wednesday group runs will typically alternate between the Fleet Feet stores (8440 Old Sauk Rd / 2816 Prairie Lakes Dr.) and Vilas Park Shelter (1602 Vilas Park Dr, Madison, WI 53715). Weekend meeting locations will rotate between west, central, and east areas of Madison utilizing several popular Madison area parks and trails (e.g. Olin Park, Orchid Heights Park, McKee Farms Park, McDaniel Park, Glacial Drumlin, Hometown Junction Park, etc.).
Athletes will cover the majority of the Mini-Marathon course throughout training.
BASE MILEAGE RECOMMENDATIONS
We recommend you be able to run 3-4 miles 2-3x/week prior to the start of half marathon training. This is to ensure you stay healthy and injury free. Our programs are inclusive to a variety of paces and ability levels. We welcome both first-time half marathoners and veterans and accommodate both runners and run/walkers looking for a structured program that will prepare them for the 13.1 mile distance. Program participants generally range anywhere from 8:30 min/mile to 15 min/mile.

- Weekly program emails with route information, advice, training tips, and motivation
- Coaching support in-person and via email to answer your questions along the way
- Organized group workouts 2x/week– routes include portions of the race course
- Gear wear tests, promotions, and giveaways from vendor partners
- Sampling of nutrition and hydration products
- Staffed pace group leaders on weekend runs to help you stay on track
