Fleet Feet Folsom & Roseville gives back locally...
Because of our amazing FIT guarantee, Fleet Feet donates gently used returned shoes to those in need. Each month we donate approximately 100 pair of shoes to a variety of local non-profit organizations. The used shoes go to those in need through organizations such as:
- The Gathering Inn
- St. Vincent De Paul
- Harvest Church
- Abundant Life Church
- WWJD
- Veterans events such as Stand Down
- Loaves & Fishes
- San Juan Unified School District
- Eich Middle School
- Hiram Johnson
- Cristo Rey HS.
Good morning Fleet Feet
Each year my family will volunteer to serve dinner to those in need in our community. The Gathering Inn shuttles people in need to safe warm/cool places (depending on the weather) to stay throughout Placer county all year round. The churches that host will provide dinner and shelter for the evening. My family will make dinner when the Gathering Inn visits our church each July and December.
About a year and half ago, I started bringing shoe donations from Fleet Feet to the nights we serve. It has been a huge hit with the community. Over this span of time, I have seen many repeat visitors to our church in need and they are becoming well aware of Fleet Feet and our ability to help them. They are so grateful for the basic need of good shoes to protect them in the harsh elements and to support them throughout their long days out on the streets.
We were a little short handed in our serving crew this year, so we were not able to capture any photos like last year. The need was so overwhelming to help our guests last Thursday that I could not help fit everyone with shoes on my own. A good friend and server on our team helped me find shoes for everyone. I brought 3 boxes of womens shoes and 3 boxes of mens shoes. The mens shoes were completely wiped out. The few that were remaining in womens shoes was sent over to the Gathering Inn headquarters to be distributed to those that were unable to visit St. Rose the night we served.
The comments from many were "God bless you", "thank you for helping us", "It feels like Christmas tonight". Some were so desperate for proper shoes that they timidly asked if it was ok to have 2 pairs. Of course the answer was yes. We served 70 people that night. Many families with children were with us.
I share this with you and your management team because I want you to know the amazing impact you and your employees are having on the community we live in. With Amy sorting and organizing our defects and funneling what we can towards the local community, combined with our entire staff accepting donations from our customers, your stores are able to support those in need in a very special and unique way. All of this happens because you say "yes" to giving.
Thank you for creating this and for allowing me to be a part of it. I'm proud to be a member of your Fleet Feet staff and look forward to this new year with everyone. Together we are making a positive difference in people lives.
Local Race Sponsorship
Each year Fleet Feet supports dozens local walking and running events by providing marketing assistance and hosting packet pick ups. Many of these events support local non-profit beneficiaries, providing much need financial assistance. We are glad to have supported worthy charities and causes.
