Doomsday 50k

The trails are calling this Fall, and Fleet Feet Folsom Roseville has a Trail Training Program to help you get out there! The Doomsday 50k Ultra Trail Training program has experienced coaches, a goal-based training schedule, and weekly runs that will introduce you to many different local trailheads in a safe group setting. We will share information on the important components of trail running, fueling, and hydration for the demands of the trail…it’s different than on the road!  

Ready to take on your first ultramarathon? Our Doomsday 50K Trail Training Program is built to get you there! Whether you're new to the ultra scene or a seasoned trail runner looking to stay strong and inspired, we’ve got the training, support, and community to help you crush your goals. 

Kick-Off Informational Meeting

Not sure if this program is for you? All are welcome to meet the coaches on Wednesday, August 20th at 6pm at Fleet Feet Folsom for a kickoff meeting. 

Weekly Workouts 

• August 24th to December 10th
• Wednesdays 6pm in Folsom and Granite Bay
• Sundays 7:30am at various locations in the Auburn, Granite Bay and Folsom area 

NOTE: Parking at many of our run locations are at State Parks and are paid parking areas. You can purchase a day pass (cash, $10-12) or purchase a Poppy Pass, which we highly recommend for the convenience and for your future trail exploration. Finding a friend to carpool with is more fun and economical!  

Goal Race

We will prepare you for the Doomsday 50k Trail Race on December 13th. 

Training Schedule

The training is designed to increase week to week so you build slowly, steadily, and consistently towards your goals. The Wednesday workouts consist of intensity such as intervals, hills, and tempo to improve your fitness. The Sunday workouts are endurance building towards your goal race distance of 31 miles. Your training schedule will include workouts for you to do on your own throughout the week which will help you see more progress. If you can’t make a workout, you will have the schedule to continue to follow the plan. 

Education

Coaches and special guests will educate you in person and via email and our private Strava club on topics such as trail safety, mobility, nutrition/hydration, how to prepare for race day, injury prevention, and more. They are also a resource and support for you along the way. 

Group Training Atmosphere

Enjoy the safety, accountability, information, and motivation that come from a coached group workout environment. We also have a private Strava Club for you to share, communicate, and get motivation from your fellow training members.

Program Cost $325

No refunds, transfers, or exchanges.

Minimum Activity Level 

You should have the ability to run or walk/run 6 miles and be currently exercising at least 3+ times per week. Training runs will be distance based. If your pace is over 18:00 min/mile, the run will have a turnaround time cap.

We reserve the right to cancel practice for any unsafe conditions such as, but not limited to, weather or air quality.
